I stayed from 08/11/2024 to 09/11/2024. The rooms were lovely, spacious, and clean with large walk-in showers. The cleaning staff were thorough, even scrubbing communal walls, which was a detail I had not seen in a hotel before. Both breakfast and evening meals were delicious with generous portions. All staff members, including those in the bar, restaurant, kitchen, and cleaning, were extremely helpful, polite, and friendly. I will definitely be staying again. Although I forgot to take a photo of breakfast, I enjoyed a delicious canun chicken burger in the evening.

I visited today on 13.10.24 for the carvery. The welcome was not very warm, more matter of fact with no personal touch. Our drinks order was taken as soon as we arrived, although there was only one other couple in the restaurant at that time. We started eating at the carvery when the drinks arrived. Regarding the food, the meat was cooked very well and was moist and tasty. The chef was pleasant and friendly. The mashed potatoes were probably the best I've had away from home, but the roast potatoes could have been crispier with a bit more cooking time. Unfortunately, the carrots and white cabbage were bland and flavorless even with added salt. However, the cauliflower/broccoli cheese was magnificent, and the red cabbage was enjoyable once cranberry was added. The gravy was watery and thin. Overall, I would consider returning for the good aspects and avoiding the negatives. With a few improvements, it could be exceptional.

I always stay here when I am in Swindon. The rooms are great, separate from the pub and restaurant. The staff is always helpful, and there are really nice food and drink options. It's well priced, convenient, and very clean.

The Sunday roast was excellent, but I had to wait 20 minutes for dessert and ended up having to cancel them as I had to leave.
